A definite trend of SS16, and judging by the new season previews for AW16, the bomber jacket will be around a little while longer. Starting small and embracing print but with lots of new solid styles coming through, in a variety of fabrics, this simple jacket has become a firm favourite and i can see why. At first i was hesitant to buy one and embrace the trend, but it was just about finding the right one for me. Originally i fell in love with this gorgeous pastel pink floral style but it washed me out and just didn't suit me so I chose this darker floral print option with contrast sleeves from New Look. The perfect balance of statement print and colour blocking in a reasonably neutral palette - i have been styling up with my jeans as well as layering over my favourite everyday dresses. It featured in my Spring Lookbook.
There are so many different styles to choose from - whether you want florals or embellishment, sporty or girly, print or solid. It is the perfect lightweight jacket to throw on with jeans, skirts and dresses but will be equally cute layered up with a polo-neck or jumper in the autumn. These are my favourites...
1. River Island Navy Print | 2. Pimkie Floral | 3. Topshop Quilted
My two favourite styles above would have to be #7 - the pink/grey contrast sleeve jacket, as it's simple and has a sports luxe vibe to it and would look great with a simple jeans & tee combo. Along with #8 - a gorgeous embroidered lace jacket. The detailing is stunning but this would be an investment piece, as it is from the premium brand Needle & Thread. This would be a lovely piece to add to a touch of sparkle and glamour, perfect teamed with tailored trousers or an LBD.
Which is your favourite - and how would you style it?
