If there was ever a wardrobe i envied and wished i could own, it would have to be this one. Julia Engel of the beautiful lifestyle blog Gal Meets Glam, has the perfect girl next door look mixed with stunning designer pieces - i mean have you seen her handbag collection! I love her very girly style, she has similar tastes to me in terms of prints and colours, so i am very inspired by her and have so many of her looks pinned to my style boards on Pinterest. I find her overall style to be very simple and classic, but at the same time she knows the worth of a beautiful print or statement piece mixed in.
Below are just a few of my favourite looks and what i love about them....
GIRLY DRESSES
Dresses seem to be a staple in Julia's wardrobe with feminine, girly details in abundance. Delicate lace and embellishment alongside ruffles and florals in beautiful pastels, strong monochromes and a dash of statement colour. She tends to opt for dresses that nip in at the waist with a fuller skirt teamed with a classic bag (her favourites tend to be a Chloe Drew, Celine box or anything from Chanel) and a tailored jacket, a great outfit formula. I love the middle look especially - a beautiful abstract floral dress from Kate Spade, teamed with preppy flats and a blush trench - this is such a chic way to be out in the rain, a look that would work perfectly in the classic British "Summer" weather.SUMMER CASUALS
A varied array of styles in Julia's summer outfits, but stripes always seem to be a staple - teamed with everything from tailored trousers to pretty skirts and everyday denim. Summer also brings out a rainbow of colours, from beautiful shades of teal to bold sunny yellows - not sure there is a colour this woman can't pull off! I am in love with the off the shoulder play-suit outfit, it's so relaxed but still looks put together, with summer accessories - a stylish hat (with boho braid) and straw bag, would make a great holiday look.WINTER CHIC
Now, i find winter the hardest season to dress for - you want to look cute and stylish but be warm at the same time. Julia seems to be able to do both with ease, making even wellingtons look chic. Rather than sticking to the traditional black and grey palette many of us wear during the colder months, she mixes in white and pastels along with bold reds and blues. I really love the all white outfit, the smart tailoring mixed with the cute bobble hat looks stylish and snuggly. I think the key to her winter look is sticking with key pieces, like a classic coat but adding interest and texture through accessories, with pops of colour to jazz up what could be a boring outfit.
