The amazing author of fashion and lifestyle blog Cupcakes and Cashmere - Emily Schuman has been an inspiration for me since i discovered her blog back in 2012 (if you haven't read it yet make sure you do). A fabulous lady who has developed her own style and makes effortless look easy - with a foundation of great basics topped off with amazing finishing touches she has created a perfect site for style inspiration. Whether she is in jeans and tee or a cute little dress, she always looks so polished and well put together, i think this woman could even make a bin bag look chic - she is definitely my real life style icon. I also find her blog great for advice, her posts on motherhood and relationships are very down to earth and real, personal insights are great and help the writer to connect with their audience which i think Emily does really well, making this blog about so much more than just fashion.
Here are a few of my favourite looks from the blog, all very different but still very girly and put together - she even makes pregnancy look good (hope when i have a baby i can still look as stylish). I love that she uses colour to add a pop to black/white/grey staples and a faithful stripe.
Soon after starting to religiously follow the blog, Emily announced a book - Cupcakes & Cashmere: A guide for defining your style, reinventing your space and entertaining with ease. After what seemed like ages (took forever to get to the UK) i finally got my copy and again was so inspired, it was the perfect extension of her blog with some really helpful tips - a mix of fashion, beauty and lifestyle. A second book soon followed in 2014 - Cupcakes & Cashmere at Home, but i am yet to purchase as this is solely focused on the home and its the fashion element that i love most about her blog but i may add it to my Christmas list.
Now Emily has done the one thing i was hoping for - a C&C fashion line, and the previews on the blog are amazing, the floral collared dress below is stunning and i cannot wait for it to come out - for more info see Emily's new post: Cupcakes and Cashmere fall 2015.
The one thing that did worry me was if this fabulous collection would be available in the UK? Luckily as it has been picked up by shopbop.com i can shop the pieces i love and not worry about expensive international delivery.
With most pieces coming in under £100 (only a couple over) they are definitely worth the investment plus the imagery is amazing, i am in love with the oversized cardigan and at £75 i will be investigating.
