First up keeping this green knit really simple, pairing it with a pair of washed black boyfriend jeans rolled up at the cuff, with crisp white high tops (love the subtle star detailing on this pair) and a great little crossbody bag incorporating a monochromatic Dalmatian print to add some fun. This would also work well with a padded gilet or longline parka added on top for extra warmth.

These mini shirtdresses from Mint Velvet are a favourite of mine, they are ideal to layer under a cropped knit like this. The flippy hem adds drama to the look and the brushed cotton gingham print is the perfect partner to the bold green. Keeping this look cosy with black tights and a staple for the winter, a biker boot - this Dani pair is great as it adds a touch of twinkle with the sparkly laces but are also really practical for a cold winters day. This gingham fabric also comes as a shirt, which would also look great underneath the knit.

Black Leather Mini Skirt & Finley Suede Knee High Boots
Due to the cropped nature of this knit, it again pairs well with a mini skirt - not adding too much bulk or length, ideal perhaps with a French tuck to show off the waistband of the skirt. I love this look as it has so much beautiful texture incorporated in it - the chunky knit, the smooth leather of the mini skirt and the soft suede knee high boots. I went for a flat boot style to keep it everyday - this would be a great shopping outfit, spending the day with your girlies and of course you could add tights to keep those legs extra snug.
Outfit Four
This is how I would wear this jumper, a classic pairing of knitwear with a crisp white longline shirt and my Mint Velvet hero product....the faux leather leggings. These leggings are amazing, a great fit, so comfortable and best of all only £29! I would note if you do purchase, always go down a size. Keeping this chic with a pair of soft leather loafers which are like wearing slippers, alternatively a pair of trainers would work well here too. The only other thing I would add on is a longline necklace.

I have been trying to be really good and not buy as much lately, but as the seasons change, there were a few pieces that have caught my eye and I thought they would slot into my wardrobe well and give it a little refresh. Most are classic pieces that I will wear a lot over the next few months (and years), alongside a few accessories to add a touch of fun and sparkle. As you will be able to tell....I am having a major magpie moment with jewellery, just obsessed! so many great, affordable pieces that are quite different to anything else I own....thinking of doing a jewellery round up, if that's something of interest?

The iconic H&M tote (perfect Dior book tote dupe) is back again for AW21 and has already gone again! sold out as quick as before. This time however I was quick enough to get one, this time in this gorgeous black/beige houndstooth. Love this print, classic but so statement and the perfect colour palette for autumn/winter. Ideal for my work essentials and a great size to wear with a smaller handbag.
Gold Tone Starburst Earrings - Mint Velvet
This particular pair of earrings were purchased last week. A beautiful statement piece, ideal for dressing up a simple tee/jeans combo and great for adding some festive sparkle to my outfits. I love the simple starburst design and they also come in silver, love them both but feeling the gold is more me. I was worried they were going to be massive but are actually the perfect size - statement but not silly.
Silver Friendship Bracelet Set - Mint Velvet
The latest addition to my bracelet stack, I really love the mix of silver and sparkle in the word LOVE and the little stars featured on the second bracelet. This set also comes in gold which I may need to look into next month to wear together as I love to mix my metals.
Huggie Hoop Earrings with Star Drop - Orelia
I actually bought these earrings to replace a pair I've had for about 4 years, that broke last week (replacing like for like). They are the hands down the best pair of everyday earrings I have ever had. I really love the Huggie style and my ears like it too - have actually struggled with studs lately but Huggies are ideal and I love how they stack and sit well with an ear cuff. A great mix of diamante studs and a little dangly star charm. Think I had them in rose gold last time but that was out of stock so went for a classic gold.
Gold Tone Lightning Necklace & Gold Tone Charm Hoop Earrings - Mint Velvet
The second I saw this collection I knew I needed it in my life - stars and lightning bolts a match made in heaven. I love the almost brass shade of gold used and the black diamante detailing. Both the necklace & earrings have not left my body since I bought them. I love the long length of the necklace, a great one to wear with high necked tops. Whilst the earrings are a great size, not so big that they get caught but large enough to make a statement - ideal worn with my hair curled. These are both available in silver but for me the gold made more of a statement as it has the contrast stones.
Essie Nail Polish "Get A Mauve On" - Amazon
Technically not clothing but wanted to include because I am obsessed with the colour. Get a Mauve on is described as "Smokey purple quick dry nail polish with grey undertones" and is my ideal shade for Autumn.
Black Military Blazer - Mint Velvet
I finally found a blazer that I love - I used to have one from Topshop but after 10 years it gave up on me, and I have been on the look out for a new one ever since. I really struggle with fitted blazers in the sleeve/armpit as they are too restrictive however this style is in a Ponte fabric so it has an element of stretch meaning I can move around easily and still feel comfortable. I love the gold buttons, and although it is double breasted there is something very streamline and classic about the styling...plus top tip, buttons are easy to change, so when I get bored of the gold I can just swap out to something a little simpler.
Nicola Twist lock Medium bag - Kate Spade
Need to pause and take a moment here....this bag is my dream bag from 2019, you will have seen it featured in not only my Wishlist but also within a blogpost. Not current season but when my dream bag popped up on eBay, in the colourway I love, at an amazing price, I couldn't resist (my overtime treat). A gorgeous girly colour with a beautiful, statement fastening (the twist lock is truly unique). The perfect pop of bold colour for the winter with all my grey & monochrome pieces plus pink is in for AW21 so bang on trend too.
Again another rebuy item, I had these mom jeans in the summer in a much lighter wash but needed a darker pair for the autumn. High waisted mom jeans - supposedly ankle length but at 5"4 they definitely are not ankle length on me! but no problem as I like to style them with the hems rolled up anyway. A nice and classic denim wash, great teamed with a white tee and my new blazer.
Black Ottoman Jumper - Mint Velvet
The zip detailing on this jumper caught my eye. A basic layering piece but something a little different about it - slightly cropped in length, ribbed texture and zip detailing on the hip. Ideal length layered over a dress and worn with the zips open to show off a pop of what's underneath. Also not too thick - I am a warm bodied person so super thick, chunky knitwear is too hot for me, this one is just right.

In my opinion, the sweatshirt has become a wardrobe staple, especially here in the UK where the weather is so variable. When it's too hot for full on knitwear but cool enough to need something on your shoulders.....enter the sweatshirt! Up until now the sweatshirt has be a sportswear item kept for PE/the gym or those super cool girls who can rock the Bella Hadid sportswear look. However it has moved into everyday style for many in the last few years, boosted by lockdown and a industry move to much more relaxed style trends. I was unsure if it was an item I could get on board with at first but actually I now have a few styles that work so well on a more casual day. I tend to gravitate to simple clean styles with a slogan or motif (easier to style with a printed dress or skirt) rather than an all over print however I will make acceptations for something beautiful.
I have rounded up my favourite styles below, from the high-street as well as a couple of independent brands.

A whimsical style to start off my picks, featuring my favourite Disney characters Stitch & Angel. Primark have such a great selection of sweatshirts, especially Disney themed styles at great prices. I also love a blush pink one with a beautiful line drawing of Thumper the rabbit on. A great budget option, especially if like me you aren't sure if a sweatshirt fits with your style.
Grey Rebel Slogan Sweatshirt - £69 Mint Velvet
Loved this style, grungy and a little more rough than the other styles featured. This shade of grey works well with lots of colours & would work well teamed with jeans, dresses or skirts and everyone loves a bit of rock & roll (well I do at least).
Pink & Neon Pink Leopard & Lightning Bolt - £50 Scamp & Dude
A very statement option, but I do enjoy a bold leopard print especially in pink. Cute too as you can get a similar mini me version to twin with your little sidekick. Also worth noting that Scamp & Dude have an amazing inclusive size run - from XS to 3XL.
Louisa Embellished Cropped Sweatshirt - £155 Sophie Pittom
The most expensive piece from this roundup, but very unique and beautiful. Each piece is hand appliqued so each one is unique. Sophie Pittom is a new brand on my radar, I discovered it through Instagram and I loved the unique embellishment detailing. Something quite romantic and girly balanced out with a simple boxy grey sweatshirt. It is also available in a beautiful baby pink.
The Sweatshirt Ivory - £60 Boden
A great classic style, simple Ivory base but with a cheeky rainbow stripe on the sleeves. Ideal to team with an easy jeans & trainers look, or style like the model with a pair of khaki chinos. Boden have this style available in other prints including a bold statement floral.
Saturday' Bouclé Slogan Sweatshirt - £16 @ Sainsburys
An unexpected find whilst doing my weekly shop! always worth a look as the supermarkets are giving the traditional fashion brands a run for their money, especially at this amazing price point. Slogan sweatshirts are cute and cheeky, plus this colour combo is gorgeous for spring/summer. A classic crew neck with rainbow bouclé lettering which adds some texture to a simple piece.
Pink City Slogan Sweatshirt - £69 Mint Velvet
I actually own this one, fell in love with the beautiful shade of pink (not to light and washed out, but not full on Barbie) with the burgundy lettering, an usual combination. Loving the city slogan trend and this was something a little different to anything else I've seen before. I also like the fact it is a summer weight sweatshirt, no furry inside making it ideal for warmer days and also a little easier to tuck in.

Enter the world of Instagram - an inspiring (sometimes expensive) place and when Cara @babblestyle shared this amazing find yesterday I had to 1. Buy a pair before they sold out & 2. share them with you. They are the best sunglasses dupe I have seen in years! I know the conversation around dupes is a volatile one, some people believe that buying a dupe style is the biggest no no ever but for me finding pieces that allow me to access a designer look for my budget is very important. However I will only buy pieces that are a genuine inspired by, anything with a designer logo on it that isn't the real deal is where I draw the line.
Next Rose Gold Statement | Chloe Carlina Round
These will be a marmite product - statement sunglasses aren't everyone's cup of tea but honestly I am in love ♡
These beauties are from the high-street giant Next and look so much more expensive than they are. The sunglasses have a gorgeous rose gold frame (although I think they look more soft gold than rose but still beautiful), cushioned nose pads and they fit the face well, I have a pet hate for glasses that don't fit properly and you are forever pushing them up your nose. These also have Next's filter category 3 lenses, giving high protection levels against sun glare as well as 100% UV protection. The only real difference between these and the Chloe pair is these are slightly smaller in frame size, actually making them a much more wearable style I think. The delicate shaping of the metal around the frames and level of detail on the arms are beautiful and almost identical to the designer pair plus did I mention that they are only £15!!!! Gorgeous oversized 70's bohemian style and perfect for the summer sunshine.

Last year I made a decision to look into ways in which I could work towards becoming more sustainable in my choices (already doing the basics - using reusable cups/straws etc) and my first move was to swap from disposable cotton wool pads to reusable bamboo cotton pads (I wrote a post, read it here). At the end of 2020, after months of research I took my second step and made the change to reusable period products. Now I wanted to share my experience and my review of this "swap" as it is still a topic on the internet that isn't widely discussed and actually I think I would have done it sooner if more information had been available with honest thoughts on the products.
One of the reasons I decided to make this swap was after reading some alarming statistics around sanitary products.... for instance that 1 disposable sanitary towel can take up to 800 years to decompose!....this is such a scary number especially as I still have lots of periods ahead of me in my life and my little boy is still in nappies so those are building up too. I had done some research into making this change before but was put off by the cost, the lack of information around the products available and sadly the gross factor. I really don't know why it grossed me out so much, we are kind of going backwards to how ladies in the "olden days" dealt with periods, they certainly didn't have access to tampons or disposable sanitary towels, did they? I also looked into the menstrual cup side of the market but decided as I am not a fan of tampons that I wasn't keen on trying a cup.... I may take another look.
I stumbled across Wear'em Out over on Instagram, when the new print collaboration with Emily Brooks went live and my boss posted about buying them. I clicked on the Instagram handle and was blown away not only by the products themselves but the amazing lady behind the brand - Lauren. Her honesty and the amount of information she has across her social media, really helps to demystify the world of reusable plus the outstanding reviews speak for themselves....and two orders later I am hooked and no longer dread my period arriving - a sentence I never thought I would ever say! Plus I loved that this is an independent business and the pads are made in UK.
The other reason I wanted to try an alternative to disposables was actually comfort....apologies this bit may be a little TMI!

Also and I didn't even think of this until it happened on my last period, if you get caught out on the first day, there is nothing worse than the disposable not sticking to your knickers because there is a little blood there! with poppers on the reusable pad, this isn't gonna happen to you again.
Now I am not gonna lie, it is an investment switching to reusable pads, something that really made me consider not switching, however, when you learn that these pads if looked after, will last for as long as four years it makes it seem a lot more worth it, especially when you add up how many disposable pads you would use in that time. With that in mind, when I placed my first order - I only bought a couple of pads, mainly because I wasn't 100% sure what size I would actually need. The pads are available in four different sizes - the mini flo, the medium flo, the mega flo and the mega mega flo. I normally go for the biggest, highest absorbency pads but after reading the reviews I thought that this may not be what I needed and I didn't want to invest in things I wasn't going to use (and I am glad I did this as I have no need for the mini flo size). I then went back and ordered more along with one of the Out & About bags once I had an idea on what I needed specifically for my periods. I have been using these pads for three months, I now know I will need to add a couple more pads to my stash and will do soon.....holding out for the next collaboration to be announced!

My Experience
So as I said before I have been using these pads for three months now, so have really got a feel for them and can give an honest review.
The first thing I will comment on is how soft the pads are, as soon as you pop one into your knickers you can barely feel it....even after a few hours, which is when a disposable would usually start to bunch up or have moved. I feel like they move with you rather than feeling rigid which as they are thicker than a disposable, surprised me. I have even managed to do Yoga and a barre class whilst wearing one, which would not normally happen whilst on my period as I wouldn't feel secure.
I have been able to wear just two pads during the day, and one overnight, this is half the amount I would normally have used with disposables, the absorbency of these pads is phenomenal - you do not expect something to hold so much blood and still feel fresh. *The number of pads will obviously be variable and a personal thing dependant on your flow but I felt clean and so comfortable. The best bit for me is, no night time leaks, for the first time in years! The Mega mega pad is ideal for night time, the longer length gives me extra wiggle protection. I also felt a lot fresher first thing in the morning and can safely wear cute PJs without the fear of washing everyday.
The process of cleaning when you change pads is so simple, simply rinse off (I usually do mine in the shower first thing or the sink during the day) then hang up to dry, I use a radiator rack so that they get some heat but are not directly on it. It is worth noting I have only been at home during this time due to the UK lockdown - but I have no anxiety about going out and about in them and changing on the go. The only difference when out of the house would be rinsing off the pad then popping into the specially designed, waterproof Out & About pouch until you are back at home. The pouch is split into two sections - one for the used pad and the other for the fresh, clean pad. Then at the end of your cycle you can just pop all the pads and your out & about bag into the washing machine for a full wash, just remember not to use fabric softener as it can affect the pads absorbency. Once dry they are ready for next month.
I don't know if it is linked to switching to these pads but I have noticed changes in my period - they are not as uncomfortable as they used to be, I feel like my periods have become a little lighter and I seem to have less notice of it arriving (no pre-period pain). These may not be linked but worth noting - would be good to know if anyone else has noticed a change since swapping to reusable products.
The Wear'em Out pads cost between £8.99 for a mini flo and £10.99 for a mega mega flo and there are bundles available in the store which do give you some savings, but buying individually means you can add to your collection when you want to.
Overall I would say I have had a really positive experience using Wear'em Out pads and would highly recommend making the change, not only for environmental/sustainable reasons, but also for long term cost savings as well as comfort.

Wear'em Out Reusable Sanitary Pads - Review
Last year I made a decision to look into ways in which I could work towards becoming more sustainable in my choices (already doing the basics - using reusable cups/straws etc) and my first move was to swap from disposable cotton wool pads to reusable bamboo cotton pads (I wrote a post, read it here). At the end of 2020, after months of research I took my second step and made the change to reusable period products. Now I wanted to share my experience and my review of this "swap" as it is still a topic on the internet that isn't widely discussed and actually I think I would have done it sooner if more information had been available with honest thoughts on the products.
One of the reasons I decided to make this swap was after reading some alarming statistics around sanitary products.... for instance that 1 disposable sanitary towel can take up to 800 years to decompose!....this is such a scary number especially as I still have lots of periods ahead of me in my life and my little boy is still in nappies so those are building up too. I had done some research into making this change before but was put off by the cost, the lack of information around the products available and sadly the gross factor. I really don't know why it grossed me out so much, we are kind of going backwards to how ladies in the "olden days" dealt with periods, they certainly didn't have access to tampons or disposable sanitary towels, did they? I also looked into the menstrual cup side of the market but decided as I am not a fan of tampons that I wasn't keen on trying a cup.... I may take another look.

The ideal mum bag as I can fit lots inside (having a three almost four year old means I carry a lot of stuff!) but the design and personalisation adds something different, elevating it from a traditional changing bag - which I am moving away from as my son is so much older now. Although this is a Wishlist, I will admit I have already bought this gorgeous A4 Stegosaurus print for my little boys bedroom, I couldn't resist - its such a beautiful piece by a local artist (@hallelula_prints) and ideal for a dino mad boy. The second piece is a larger A3 poster, which I also need! The detail on these prints is insane and would make such a great idea for a gift. I have had a few bits from this lady before, including the most amazing set of animal flashcards (she lives in my village) and I love the quality and individual-ness of each piece. She does all sorts of beautiful prints, not just dinosaurs so take a look at her store.

Every new season I excitedly scroll through the new in section, ready to choose the pieces for my uniform and this vintage photo tee caught my eye and is perfect for teaming with jeans or chinos & a denim jacket ready for when retail is finally back open again. I love the fit of MV tees and this one is the perfect off white colour with my favourite kind of imagery - vintage with a romantic feel to it.

Sophia Webster is my go to designer brand for shoes. Whilst I am still to buy a pair, her designs encapsulates everything I love about fashion - the individualism, quirky and fun and these Astra heels are just beautiful...admittedly maybe not that practical for my day to day life but a girl can dream cant she! I love the subtle nod to stars and the colour palette would make these really easy to style with so many pieces. Maybe one day soon.....

Next up in the series is a casual classic - the sweatshirt, but with a modern twist. The sweatshirt has fast become a staple in lots of daily uniforms (including mine) over lockdown. Easy to throw on with jeans or leggings and a nice alternative to the traditional knit but I wanted to show how to style a sweatshirt not only now but also outside of the house....ready for when we go out for more than a food shop!

Outfit One
Sweatshirt used in all looks - Lilac Ribbed Sweatshirt
Light Grey Boyfriend Coat, Ohio Jeggings & Ezra Suede Boots
First up is an smarter way to wear the sweatshirt, which is typically a casual item of clothing. For this look I have teamed a classic black skinny jegging, with slouchy suede ankle boots and a tailored boyfriend mid length coat, smart but chic. Keeping the look simple elevates the sweatshirt and the slouchy boots adds some texture and refinement without going too "office". This sweatshirt also has a funnel neck detail meaning it will sit perfectly under the lapels of the coat.
Outfit Two
Knitted Joggers, Faux Fur Slippers & Lavender & Geranium Candle
Now this is a much more traditional outfit, but ideal for lockdown. Teaming the sweatshirt with a classic pair of cosy knitted joggers and some stylish slippers - chic loungewear. If you wanted to elevate this look for going out & about, you could switch out the knitted style for the faux leather joggers. I have included a fancy candle in this outfit as this look is ideal for chill days, plus these candles smell amazing.

Poppy Tiered Mini Dress, Disk Earrings & Allie Padded Trainers
My favourite outfit - something a little more unexpected and playful, layering the lilac sweatshirt over the beautiful purple Poppy print mini dress. The crop of the sweatshirt shows off the cute flippy hem of the dress whilst adding a layer of warmth. Styled up with trainers, keeps this easy and casual, cute for a day shopping or out with the girls. Going tonal with lilac on lilac is a great way to add colour to an outfit without going too crazy, ideal for those who are a little afraid of colour. I have this dress in two other prints and it is a great everyday dress, ideal if you want to be comfy but still look like you've made an effort.
Outfit Four
This outfit updates one of my favourite looks of the year, taking a classic white shirt, skinny jeans combination and adding the sweatshirt on top - love having the tail of the shirt hanging out the bottom. Teamed with a chunky biker boot adds a cool edge and dresses down the more formal white shirt. I have gone with grey jeans here as I love lilac & grey together, less harsh than black especially with a white shirt.

Welcome to the first post 2021.... starting the year off with a Mum Life post - I don't write much mum content as this space is predominantly about fashion however occasionally I will share a post that I feel will benefit any mum readers out there. This wont be a "How to Potty Train" post, as my son did it his own way and threw all my research out the window! I actually found potty training the most stressful milestone in my sons life so far but these were products that I found really helped once we began the big boy pants journey and helped him to pick it up quickly. Worth noting none of these products are revolutionary but a few of them I didn't know existed until I found them or was recommended them by a fellow mummy.....
Firstly the main thing required is patience, YOU need to be ready to potty train just as much as your child. Be prepared for a hundred wees on your rug/sofa, don't get angry and if you need to go down the rewards route, then do it!
Nothing fancy needed here, just a simple plastic potty. We bought the IKEA Lilla as it was only £2.50!! We actually got three of them as they were so cheap, one to have in the lounge where little man spends most of his time, one for his bedroom for night time visits and the third one is actually at his nursery as he didn't want to use the ones available there, so we sent him in with his own (major breakthrough). Not the most aesthetically pleasing item sitting in my lounge but it serves a purpose.
2. Seat insert & step
We decide to buy the IKEA set of seat & step along with the potty and both of these items live in the family bathroom, although we did end up buying additional sets from Aldi to have in the other toilets in the house (just in case). My son has been using the seat every night at bedtime and every morning when he wakes up, so as to get him used to going on the actual toilet and to not be scared of falling in. They may need a little help getting on but my son is now big enough to climb on and off unaided. Again super cheap - £8 for the two.

3. Travel Potty
The My Carry Potty, a great option for days out of the house, admittedly we did our training during lockdown so the only "out" was the park, but this travel potty is great for such occasions. With a vacuum seal on it, your child can use, close it up and there are no leaks, ideal if you can't dispose straight away. This will be good on car journeys too as there is never a service station when you need one! I gave my son the choice of which design he wanted and he chose the dinosaur, but there are others available including a penguin, ladybird and cat.
4. Panda Fold-up Seat
Another travel item but perfect for everyday out of the house. To begin with my son hated the potty, he much preferred the toilet and I didn't want to have to carry the solid IKEA toilet seat round with me, but I came across this one which folds down into a little pouch, ideal to pop in the nappy bag and get out to use in public toilets. This will be my go to when we go out and I don't want to carry the travel potty, places where I know there will be a toilet....shopping for instance.
5. Character Pants
This is an obvious one, but I wanted to include as its a good idea to let your child choose their pants, if they have their favourite characters on they are more likely to want to wear them. Also my advice is buy lots as there will be accidents.

6. Books
I bought a couple of books before we started as I thought it was important to talk to him about it before we started the process, give him an idea of what was coming. I chose the Thomas book as again its something that interests him and the other was a recommendation from a friend. Amazon has so many different books - there is bound to be one that your child will enjoy.

7. Oh Crap Potty Training Book
This was a recommendation from a friend and whilst I found it very informative my son did the opposite to what I expected so it wasn't much help after the prep stage, but if you need somewhere to start I can recommend this book. A real, down to earth read and no touchy feely just simple facts and humour, that makes you comfortable and relaxed about the potentially daunting task ahead of you.
8. Seat Protector
Another odd purchase but very logical - a simple absorbent pad for the car seat or pushchair just to help soak up any accidents on long journeys or out and about. We have only used a couple of times again because we are in lockdown but I think it will be really helpful for our next trip to Scotland (7 hours in the car is tough on my bladder never mind little mans!).

Potty Training Essentials
Welcome to the first post 2021.... starting the year off with a Mum Life post - I don't write much mum content as this space is predominantly about fashion however occasionally I will share a post that I feel will benefit any mum readers out there. This wont be a "How to Potty Train" post, as my son did it his own way and threw all my research out the window! I actually found potty training the most stressful milestone in my sons life so far but these were products that I found really helped once we began the big boy pants journey and helped him to pick it up quickly. Worth noting none of these products are revolutionary but a few of them I didn't know existed until I found them or was recommended them by a fellow mummy.....
Firstly the main thing required is patience, YOU need to be ready to potty train just as much as your child. Be prepared for a hundred wees on your rug/sofa, don't get angry and if you need to go down the rewards route, then do it!
Nothing fancy needed here, just a simple plastic potty. We bought the IKEA Lilla as it was only £2.50!! We actually got three of them as they were so cheap, one to have in the lounge where little man spends most of his time, one for his bedroom for night time visits and the third one is actually at his nursery as he didn't want to use the ones available there, so we sent him in with his own (major breakthrough). Not the most aesthetically pleasing item sitting in my lounge but it serves a purpose.
2. Seat insert & step
We decide to buy the IKEA set of seat & step along with the potty and both of these items live in the family bathroom, although we did end up buying additional sets from Aldi to have in the other toilets in the house (just in case). My son has been using the seat every night at bedtime and every morning when he wakes up, so as to get him used to going on the actual toilet and to not be scared of falling in. They may need a little help getting on but my son is now big enough to climb on and off unaided. Again super cheap - £8 for the two.

So onto my purchase.... I have been on the look out for this particular Mulberry bag for years....the black leather, medium Tillie satchel.
The Tillie was part of the SS11 Mulberry collection and has been the IT piece for me for years. I do already own one of these bags, an oversized version in cream tweed (bought in the sale), but sadly she isn't the most practical bag (especially with a toddler) so doesn't get used much, but I love everything about the style and detailing on this bag. I was in two minds at one point, about sending my cream bag to the Bag-Spa and getting her dyed black but I had a deep fear of it getting ruined! So finding this has made me so happy ♡♡
A classic satchel shape, with top handle and gorgeous gold hardware, the perfect size to be worn on the shoulder, cross body as well as on the crook of the arm. It is also a great everyday size, ideal for all my essentials plus the odd car, dinosaur or tub of playdoh and because it is preloved I am a little less precious with her, because she has already been "broken in". The bag was exactly as described, no faults, a little wear on the hardware but far less than I expected considering she is nine years old.
So this bag originally retailed for around £900 and although I have been on the look out for a couple of years now, the cheapest I have ever found one, was about £300 but that was on Ebay, and I am not very trusting of sellers on there, especially when it comes to designer items...... going through a verified pre-loved retailer means that it has been authenticated and best of all this beauty was only £120. I know for some people that even this is still a lot to spend on a handbag, but this piece has such a place in my heart and it is a real treat to be able to purchase it, especially as this style of Mulberry is no longer in production. The transaction was conducted via Instagram direct message then once agreed, through Paypal (hello buyer protection), and although the item was sent Royal Mail 2nd class it arrived the next day! and was beautiful wrapped in tissue paper.
Overall I found this pre-loved process, to be a really positive experience and will definitely be doing it again, as I do believe that items should be loved for years, not worn once and thrown away. I also really love the idea of a piece having its own little story, its own history.

This time round I am focusing on a gorgeous piece of knitwear - the beige metallic knit. This is my 2020 Christmas jumper! subtle metallic sparkle woven into the knit, perfect for a cosy Christmas and a very versatile silhouette - slightly cropped with a chunky polo neck, gunmetal zip detailing to one shoulder & the cuffs and in the most beautiful warm beige that works with so many other colours. Outfit One
Knitwear used in all looks - Beige Metallic Knit Jumper
Kelly Print Jersey Midi Dress, Black Eyelet Leather Belt & Aston Lace Up Peep Toe Boot
First up is an outfit making the most out of the crop of the knit, layering it up with this gorgeous butterfly print dress, which I have had now for a few months. Teamed with the eyelet belt so as to front tuck the knit in for extra emphasis on the nipped in waist. This combination transforms a beautiful dress into a skirt (two looks for the price of one). I felt this outfit worked as the dress has the most amazing Autumnal colours in it and the beige knit compliments this so well. I also teamed this look with a pair of peep toe boots, in a warm shade of brown, ideal to balance out the skin on show as the knit has a very high neck and very flattering with the hanky hem of the dress.
Outfit Two
Faux Leather Joggers, Tori Metallic Bag & Palmer White Velcro Trainers
This look was inspired by my gorgeous boss Jodie, teaming the jumper with a statement pair of faux leather joggers, tucked in at the front to show off the waistband and my favourite pair of simple Velcro trainers (very Veja and so classic). Adding the metallic bag ties in the gunmetal zips and is a great way to add subtle sparkle to an everyday outfit - perfect for a cheeky Starbucks date.
Outfit Three
White Oversized shirt, Denver Black Coated Jeans & Debbie Biker Boots
This outfit, is how I've been wearing this knit during lockdown, layered over a simple white shirt (preferably oversized, as it creates a beautiful drape under the knit) teamed with a pair of black skinnies - these Denver coated jeans are ideal as they add some texture to the look but it would work with any skinny jean. Finished off with the boot of the season....the biker boot, adding a touch of grunge to a classic outfit. The perfect everyday look for me and ideal for mum days, add a bag and your good to go.
Outfit Four
Lottie Animal Print Mini Dress, Rose Gold Plated Star Bangle & Black Leather Cowboy Boots
Last up is the Lottie dress, a piece I bought a few months ago and I have been wearing it non stop over a jersey polo neck but it also looks amazing under the beige knit on a colder day. The hem of the jumper hits at just the right point so the flippy hem of the dress has freedom to swish, again creating a skirt look. This outfit wouldn't be complete without a pair of classic black tights - needed to keep the legs warm and the perfect partner to a pair of buckle boots. These cowboys boots are the ideal height for a mini dress, elongating the leg and are so comfy too. I have also included on this outfit, this gorgeous rose gold star bangle, perfect to have poking out of your sleeve (and a great little gift for Christmas).

Adding a statement buckle boot (these are an amazing pair, perfect heel height for everyday and they look great with dresses as well as jeans), a classic fedora hat and a long charm necklace. Think 2020 boho styling. If the leggings are a little out of your comfort zone, this outfit would work just as well with a pair of skinny jeans.

Khaki Cargo Trousers, Denim Jacket & Hailey Stone Trainers
Styled with these cargo trousers gives the shirt a much more casual feel, wear it tucked into the trousers to define your waist. Layering the denim jacket adds a little structure to the shoulders and the two tone trainers, with a splash of sparkle make it a great everyday look. I would wear this for a day out with my little boy - easy but still so stylish.

This outfit could also be layered up with a winter coat as the finishing touch when the temperature drops.

Teamed with a classic skinny jean (I have gone with grey but any colour would work) and my favourite new season trainers - Velcro is not just for kids anymore. This is the perfect everyday outfit....throw on a classic tote and your ready for the day.
